Travelling to Tokyo Disneysea was actually much easier than expected because we did our research and I went over it time and again, trying to memorise the line names and also running different routes for different times on Hyperdia!
In Tokyo we stayed at Shibuya when we first arrived from the Narita Airport on the 17th August and we went to Disneysea on the next day. We set off bright and early (left the apartment at 7.15am Japanese time which is 6.15am local time!!!) because we wanted to be there before the park opened for the day. I would encourage you to be at the entrance to the park before the day starts as well.
Even though it might not seem like it, the park is less crowded when it is this early, it's just that no one is in the park yet, so the crowd is concentrated at the entrance.

There were 2-3 different convenience stores that were on our way to the New South Entrance at Shibuya Station where we got all our snacks and food for Breakfast and Lunch.
If you don't already know, the Disney Theme Parks and Resort in Tokyo are located nearest to Maihama Station! (Click!!)
The link I've provided above allows you to input your starting location to calculate how to get to Maihama Station on the Keiyo Line (Maroon colour). Depending on your starting location, you will incur some transportation charges, but for my friends and I, we just showed our JR Passes and passed through because it was a JR line!
For simplicity's sake I put in where I was staying in Shibuya! Notice how Google Maps thoughtfully tells you if it's a JR line or not with the JR logo. This was the exact route that we took to Maihama on the 18th except at a much earlier time!

Once you exit Maihama Station, you WILL be able to see the Disney Resort Line Station, besides, there are many ushers who will be directing you towards the Disney Resorts and Theme Parks. Take some pictures of the train interior as it is very cute!
If you already have a Pasmo or Suica Card you can tap in! If not, you will have to buy single-trip (260JPY) tickets to take the Disney Resort Line to Tokyo Disneysea or Disneyland.

You don't get to keep this ticket! So if you're interested to show what it looks like, snap a picture!
Tokyo Disneysea and Disneyland have their own separate stations and the Disney Resort Line goes in an anti-clockwise direction.
